The Veils of the Nile is a dance troupe led by Aleili and based on the east-side (of Seattle, Washington). We present family-oriented Middle-Eastern dance performances, including group and solo pieces.

The troupe performs at several dance or cultural events every year, such as Hasani's Haflas, the Mediterranean Fantasy Festival (MedFest) each July, and various other recitals and showcases.

Two dancers berberwalk while others balance the swords on their heads or shoulders

During the course of the Sword Dance, the Veils balance the swords on their heads, shoulders, fingers, hips, etc.

Their Sword Dance is the first full piece that the Veils of the Nile have collaboratively choreographed together.

The Sword Dance ends with this dramatic pose.

Clockwise from center top: Aleili, Johara, Dakini, Sephira, and Niranjana Tamar.
