TreasureboxWindows Media Player 7 Skin |
I did the concept, design, graphics production, and coding of this skin for Microsoft Windows Media Player 7 (WMP7) during the summer of 2000, when I was working for Tattoo Media. This is the first and only skin I've ever seen that has a double visualization area, or that uses a half-screened visualization area to give the illusion of a reflection. To download Treasurebox.WMZ (247K), click on any of the pictures on this page. To use it once you've downloaded it, you must have Microsoft Windows Media Player 7 (WMP7) installed. If "WMZ" files have been associated with Windows Media Player 7 in your installation of Windows, Treasurebox should open automatically when you doubleclick on it. If not, you may need to copy the file into the C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Skins folder. Then it should appear in the list of available skins when you start Windows Media Player. |
The volume control is in the string of pearls on the right side of the box. The playlist is hidden in a drawer that pops out when the large pearl on the right side of the box is clicked on. All the various controls are hidden in the jewels. The green jewel on the front of the box is Play; the red is Stop, and the purple one in the middle is Pause. The red and green jewels at the right and left inside the box step forward and backward through the visualizations. |

When closed, the box looks like the picture at right. The controls are a bit more standard in this view. For a long time this skin was available for download at www.skinz.org. That site was down for several months and then apparently was rebuilt, and I don't think Treasurebox is still up there. If nothing else, though, you can read the comments & feedback that were posted. For a while it was ranked in the top ten. It had been downloaded 2,231 times the last time I checked. |
