This 3D piece is two-sided — the breastplate hangs on a silver chain in a shadowbox-like frame. The exterior heart floats against a background of sky, but the viewer can rotate the torso on its chain to see the interior heart — a bleeding glass vessel against a background of flames. Both hearts spout fire. Scroll down to see the photo of the interior.

My goal was to create an impressionistic portrait of a woman's heart, with all the exaltation, pain, love, misery, passion, and fear that it can feel.
