Sleep-Floating Miette
Acrylic Paint on Canvasboard
2002

I snapped a photo of Miette lying on the bed, dozing with one eye slightly open. She looked so foolishly buoyant and had such a goofy, self-satisfied expression on her face that I just had to paint her this way, sleep-floating over the treetops. This piece was part of the Mimic-Octopus PET show, in 2003.
